Amsterdam I love you

Dagens indlæg er i samarbejde med Radisson Hotels   //   Today’s post is in collaboration with Radisson Hotels

Good evening my angels! Today’s post is all about my wonderful tip to Amsterdam with Maria in Collaboration with Radisson Hotels. In my Amsterdam posts you’ve previosly read about my excitment and love for Amsterdam. Since I was a little girl an my parents took me there for the first time, I’ve never forgot about it. The mentality of the people, the culture and the cute streets full of bikes somehow reminds me a lot of my own Country’s big capital Copenhagen.

I was so happy I got to bring Maria, we are without doubt the best traveling buddies! We know when to work and when to relax and enjoy ourselves. We had a quite late flight departure from London, so we didn’t arrive in Amsterdam before midnight but the travel itselves was super smooth and easy. I just typed the route into my favourite map: Citymapper and it told us exactly where to go and what train to catch into central.

Radisson Blu had invited us to stay to explore Amsterdam for 4 days.

The check in was smooth and only took a minute, so we therefor went straight to bed because we knew we wanted to wake up early the next day, so that we could get the most out of all the days we were there.

Radisson Blu had invited us for 4 days which was the perfect amout of days. We had a long list of places we wanted to visit while we were there, but knowing we had 4 days to tick off all those places made me able to ”relax” and enjoy it even more without having to stress everywhere.

Our Radisson Blu hotel was located super central in walking distance to all of the places we wanted to visit, which made everything so much easier. The street was nice and quite, so you can get a good nights sleep without any noise considering the hotel is located in the heart of everthing. Maria and I found a lovey bar (Bar Jones)  just round the corner from the hotel where we ended up two nights because we loved it so much.

Every day in Amsterday was kick started with a lovely breakfast at the hotel that offered evetyhing you could ever wish for; fish, eggs, omlet, fresh bread, coffee, fruit etc.

Every day after a yummy breakfast Maria and I was ready to kick start our daily to-do list. Always starting out discovering a new amazing coffee shop. You angels know I am a big coffee lover, and I must admid that Amsterdam has the best selection of cute coffee shops. I’m not lying when I say Maria and I discovered at least 3 new a day, AND they were all so worth it.

Amsterdam is a very touristic place but evenever I travel with Maria we always do lots of resarch beforehand, so that we avoid the touristy places since we enjoy spending time at the local areas going to the places the lacals love to go and try to ”live” the way the locals do. I’ve done that for years, and it’s highly recomended. I get stressed out spening my trips surrounded by pushy and noisy tourists.

Mine yndlings må være Back to Black & Bocca Coffee shop.

Amsterdam is also a great place to ”get lost” in. Sometimes Maria and I knew one great place in one area we wanted to visit, so we decided to start out there and then just walk around and see where that took us. By walking is always the best way to see as much of a big city as possible. Amsterday was easy to figure out, and after two days we knew almost all the cute side streets in our area. You can not really get lost, and everything feels like it’s located close to each other and walking along the canals is pure mindfulness for me, and it almost removes the stress and feeling of being in a big city. The canals are super charming and I love the outdoor activity here. Everyone sit and spend time outside with their friends, all the bikes and the small independend shops you spot all around gives is what I love the most about this city. You constantly need to go explore, because all the small uniqe shops are spead out everywhere and the same are the coffee shops we loved. One of my top two favorite coffee shops we vistited was Back to Black & Bocca Coffee Shop.

While we were in Amsterdam there were a few ”musts” on our list and one of them was to try the famous homemade caramel waffles. We were recomended a place called Van Wonderen Stroopwafels, and gosh it was yummy! Sugary – but delicious.

Her man du få god kaffe, kage og jordbær dybet i chokolade. Yummy!

One thing I also adore about Amsterdam is the buildings and all the stunning work spaces you pass by when you walk round the city. The big, big windows allows lots of light to come through and creates flats and work paces there’s to die for. I’ve always loved old charming buildings like these with massive windows, and I can’t help but feel like Amsterdam could be a place where I could see myself life in the future. Everyone we met on this trip was extremly lovely and helpful. If we didn’t know where to go there were always a smiley person ready to help us. The transportation was super easy and twice doing the trip we bought a daily traveling ticket that both cover the busses and the trams, which was super cheap considering how much I spend on travling back and forth in London, haha!

While Maira and I were in Amsterdam we had delicious fresh strawberries dipped in chocolate at my friends new café Polaberry. We had yummy coffee at Bocca Coffee Shop, Back to Black, Sticky Fingers and shared a yummy cheese cake at the super pink and instagramable restaurant Mamma Kelly. We shared he biggest and must over the top milkshake at Ree 7. We had delicous brunch at PLUK and enjoyed wine at the lovely bar Bar Jones just a few minutes from our hotel. I can highly recomend all these spots, you must write them down on your must-visit list for when you go to Amsterdam.

After 4 amazing, productive and fun days with Maria, it was again time for us to, pack, check out and fly back to London. It’s ages ago since I’ve enjoyed a big city trip this much, since it somehow felt like we weren’t in a big city at all. I’ve enjoyed waking up to a full yummy and prepared breakfast table where you get your coffee served first thing when you sit down. Sharing a massive comfy bed with my girl which means funny girls talkes and movies at night & someone to clean and tidy your room every day. (I could really need that here at home, haha!) What a lovely break from London and always an exciting adventure to explore a new country, city & hotel.

Thank you amazing Radisson Blu Hotels for having us, we will be back very soon.
Biggets hug your Isabella
