When Anna and I arrived to our Airbnb apartment we both agreed that we would just drop it off, get dressed and leave the flat as fast as we could, so that we could go and explore and see as much as we could. Anna have been in Berlin a couple of times, but it was my first time there. We decided that we wouldn’t plan too much, we wanted to take each day by it and see what we felt for. We wanted to see more of the local areas in Berlin where all the locals loves to go and hang out.

We left straight away and we decided to walk around. In that way you get to see much more and suddenly you spot charming small side streets and hidden gems you just have to visit. When I lived in London I loved to bike everywhere, it gives you a much better overview of the city.

That’s exactly what happened with this cute café Oak & Ice! We passed by and just had to stop and try their ice cream. We could see it was a very popular place for all the locals (that’s always a good sign) Haha. My friend is unfortunately lactose intolerence, so she got super happy when she saw they had yummy sorbet and even all vegan!

We got so positively surprised with Oak & Ice. Trust me when I say that I in my lifetime so far have tried some super delicious ice cream – but the mango sorbet and matcha ice cream I had beats everything! In order to get there you have to get off at metro station Eberwalder Strasse, it’s located in an area called Helmholtzkiez. Everything you can get here is local and homemade, which is what I love about this place.

Outside there is a cosy atmosphere where you can sit in the sun and enjoy the rustic Berlin view – Love it! Inside Oak & Ice is decorated in a cool, cosy and rustic way, which I am a big fan of. If you are going to Berlin, then this place must be on your list. Especially is you are a big ice cream lover like me. On the same street you can also find a coupe of second hand shops and a vinyl shop where I bought an LP for my man and I. I could sit here for hours just talking and eating ice cream, but we had to go and explore more of Berlin.
