WELCOME TO MY WORLD
A little glimpse into my daily life
“If there’s a whisk, there’s a way!”
Yesterday I experimented with baking bread, and I am over the moon with how well it turned out. I have been excited all day yesterday, and all morning today to share the recipe with you angels. It is really simple and fast to make, and you it only needs about 35 minutes in the oven. It is a tasty and good looking bread that most people will love! It is especially yummy for breakfast or afternoon coffee with butter and jam. Yummy
Ok my angels – let’s do it! Here is how to do it:
500-600 g plain flour (Start with 500 and add extra if needed, till the dough can form a round shape without being too sticky)
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
310 ml milk
1 beaten egg for glazing (optional)
Step by step:
Then in a big bowl mix your dry ingredients. Flour, baking powder and salt, and give it a good mix.
Then stir in the milk, and bring the dough together by stirring the ingredients with your hand until the milk is mixed with with flour and forms a dough. Add extra flour if needed. The dough is very sticky, but add flour until you are able to remove it from the bowl. I prefer doing this with my hands, I find it much easier than using a wooden spoon. It might get a bit messy – but don’t worry about that.
On a flat surface with flour add the dough and knead briefly until the dough has a smooth consistency, and add a bit of flour to the dough if it’s still too sticky.
**Optional: Beat your egg and glaze the top of your bread with it – all over. (As I said this step is optional, but I think it makes the bread look more beautiful and golden brown and helps to add more crispiness to the crust)
I hope you love it as much as we do! I can not wait to have my second slice later today with my afternoon coffee. This bread transport me back in time to my childhood, where my mother almost daily baked a similar bread for us children! I miss home incredibly much, so I get really happy and emotional when I have this bread because it make me think of them.
Let me know what you think of the recipe if you decide to give it a try. Yay!
Lots of love and hugs your Isabella xxx
